WHAT IS KNOWN?
Known is an online database where people can learn more about people in their various circles in order to better love, serve, and give to one another.
IF I SET UP A KNOWN PROFILE, WILL IT BE PUBLIC TO ANYONE USING THE SITE?
Your Known profile is only visible to those in the group you join. All groups are private and require an access code to join to ensure group security.
DO I HAVE TO FILL OUT ALL THE CATEGORIES IN THE KNOWN PROFILE?
Short answer: no. If there is a category you don’t feel comfortable answering, you can leave it blank. That being said, a more complete profile helps people to better know and serve you.
HOW DO I START A GROUP ON KNOWN?
To form a group, you will need to contact us at hello@knownproject.com to become an administrator of a new group. Once approved, you will receive a private access code for the group. You will then be able to share that access code with those you invite into the group in order for them to join and set up their profiles.
HOW WOULD I POTENTIALLY USE KNOWN ONCE I’M PART OF A GROUP?
If your co-worker is going through a hard season of life and your workplace has a Known group, you could look up your co-worker’s profile and find out specific ways to encourage him or her. If your family set up a Known group, you would know how to celebrate birthdays and ways you could serve family members better. If you wanted some recommendations for good movies or books, you could find out what other people have enjoyed in your different groups. These are just a few ways to use Known!
